Natural Wing Chun is pleased to announce that we shall soon be selling high quality and truly authentic Wooden Dummies and Wooden Poles / Dragon Poles for use in the development of Wing Chun. These shall be available to view and try out at our headquarters in Derbyshire.
Authentic Wing Chun Wooden Dummy (Mok Yan Jong) and Wing Chun Long Pole (Luk Dim Boon Gwan) designed and built by Wing Chun practitioners for Wing Chun practitioners. Wing Chun Wooden Dummies Following reviews and trials of many of the dummies available on the market we have made the decision to design and source our own wooden dummies. The aim has been to produce Wooden Dummies that have the correct proportions for the modern European to effectively develop the physical principles of Wing Chun. The result is an outstanding dummy that looks, feels and sounds fantastic and also reinforces the correct positioning and distancing essential to good development in the art of Wing Chun. The design has been based on the original Koo Sang Wooden Dummy and maintains some of the more historically accurate proportions that ensure the correct ‘feel’ when making bridge contact. Our dummies assist you in applying the correct distance and positioning when using the dummy to reinforce the correct ‘line’ in to your target. The main variation away from the Koo Sang design dummy has been in the distance between the arms and legs to reflect the actual proportions of the average modern European. Each of the dummies are made and tested by a fellow Wing Chun Sifu in China. The dummies, arms, legs and frames are produced from a high quality and very strong Chinese Oak. This is a very durable, dense and long lasting hardwood, stronger than European and American Oaks, that produces a very nice ‘clack’ sound when the dummy is used correctly. The density of the wood and set-up of the frame also means that the dummy presents resistance close to that of a human for additional realism when training. The dummy comes with a fully adjustable wall mounted frame and the arms come in an offset design so that you can ensure the dummy is adjusted as much as possible to your own body’s requirements. £449.00 Sifu Bennett of Natural Wing Chun is available to guide you on setting up and using your dummy, making sure that you get the most benefit from your practice.
Wing Chun Long Poles Made from Za,mu, a very strong and suitable Chinese hardwood, our Wing Chun poles are designed and made in a traditional manner. The poles are traditionally proportioned at just shy of 9 foot (2.7m) long with a base of 1.5” (3.7cm) tapering to 1” (2.5cm) tip. At around 5lbs (2.3kg) these poles are a perfectly weighted and balanced weapon for developing your wing chun body structure and power. Finished in a tung and linseed oil blend for additional durability, protection and natural appearance, our poles feel as great as they look. £55.00
