Yip Man was originally taught by Chan Wa Soon and
latterly by Leung Bik (son of Leung Jan). Yip Man learnt both the
hard and soft elements of Wing Chun from Chan Wa Soon and Leung Bik
respectively. Yip Man began teaching in Kowloon, Hong Kong in order
to make a living after he left China.
Ho Kam Ming
was one of the few men to complete the entire system of Wing Chun under
Yip Man. Ho Kam Ming was held in high regard by Yip Man and Yip Man
revealed many of the finer points of Wing Chun to him. Yip Man also
appointed Ho Kam Ming to assume the responsibility of instructing his
private students. His full contact Wing Chun team has fought in
martial arts tournaments throughout Southeast Asia and has achieved
considerable recognition.
Augustine Fong
began his training under Ho Kam Ming in 1960. Sifu Fong was regarded as
Master Ho's best student and toughest fighter and in 1969 moved to
Arizona, USA. Master Fong currently operates his own federation
headquarters in Tucson, Arizona where he founded his own Wing Chun Academy
and established the headquarters for "Fong's Wing Chun Gung-Fu Federation"
David Bennett
began studying Martial Arts in 1988. Having heard of the
effectiveness of Wing Chun Sifu Bennett began training in Wing Chun in
2000. This was a turning point in Sifu Bennett’s life and since then
has been dedicated to the art of Wing Chun. Sifu Bennett
began his training under Sifu Augustine
Fong in 2006 and in 2008 was certified as Sifu by Augustine Fong.
Sifu Bennett currently teaches in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire,
England.
